Citizenship

Our Citizenship class is a combination of ELA (English Language Acquisition; formerly “ESL”) and preparation for the U.S. Citizenship exam.

Classes meet one night a week and provide instruction and guidance including:

  • United States history                                      
  • government                                
  • rights and responsibilities of citizens
  • civic participation                                
  • citizenship requirements              
  • conversational English
  • basic English literacy
  • practice questions that may be on the test
  • writing
  • reading
  • citizenship interview practice, and
  • some work with citizenship applications
