Substitute Teachers, Aquidneck Island Adult Learning Center
We are always on the lookout for motivated, passionate teachers willing to serve as substitute teachers. Sub positions can often lead to more permanent assignments. If you have experience in the fields of ESL, GED, CNA, Citizenship, Food Safety, Teacher Assistant, Computers, Apprenticeship classes, or other fields related to what we teach, please contact us and we'd be happy to explore if your interests/desires match up with what we need!!

Newport Community School (NCS) is a full-service community school non-profit organization, providing out-of-school time for middle and high school students along with comprehensive family support, social emotional student services/programming, and adult education programs. NCS was founded in 2001 and has had a track record of success and has a loyal following working in partnership with our local school district and a variety of community partners.
The Newport Community School’s Adult Education program, the Aquidneck Island Adult Learning Center provides a full menu of literacy, adult education and vocational training to adults and out-of-school youth at times and in places convenient to the learner. These services include assessment, literacy, workplace literacy, ESL, high school completion and vocational training and counseling based upon the findings or recent research and the best practices recommended by the National Literacy Resource Center.
